The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child |
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child, Kensington Palace has announced.
In a press release, the palace says that The Queen is “delighted” with the news.
As with her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess of Cambridge is suffering from morning sickness meaning the announcement has come sooner than expected.
As a result, her planned engagements at Hornsey Road Children’s Centre this afternoon has been cancelled.
Both the Duke and Duchess are expected to undertake more engagements this week, however, whether they will go ahead remains uncertain.
The Duchess has not been hospitalised and is being cared for at Kensington Palace.
The couple already has one son, George, born in 2013 and a daughter, Charlotte, born in 2015.
The new baby will become 5th-in-line to the throne, pushing Prince Harry back further in the line of succession.
