Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry to visited Support4Grenfell hub |
The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry will be visiting Support4Grenfell Community Hub in North Kensington this afternoon.
Support4Grenfell is the newest establishment of the Royal Foundation, which provides "mental health resources for the children, young people and families affected by the Grenfell fire", according to a press release sent out from Kensington Palace last week outlining a number of new engagements for both the Cambridges and Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Cambridge is scheduled to attend this engagement, however, she is suffering from severe morning sickness meaning her attendance is unlikely.
The foundation was coordinated under the Royal Foundation with support from Heads Together; another charity set up by Harry, William and Kate to combat mental health stigmas.
The Community Hub, which was created in July, houses space for a variety of groups to come together and provide support for victims of the Grenfell fire.
During the visit, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry will meet with representatives of some of the groups set up at the hub such as Place2Be, Child Bereavement UK, The Art Room and Winston's Wish.
They will also meet with victims of the fires and community leaders.
From the hub, the three will travel to Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre Al-Manaar. Al-Manaar was one of the first places to respond to the fires on the night of 14 June with counselling, food, shelter and volunteers. They are still an active part of providing counselling and a safe haven for those in the community.
As with her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess of Cambridge is suffering from morning sickness meaning the announcement has come sooner than expected.
As a result, her planned engagements at Hornsey Road Children’s Centre were cancelled.
