Queen Máxima Gets Transparent Braces

Queen Máxima Gets Transparent Braces

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has had transparent braces put on her teeth. The clear braces were noticed this past week while she was conducting engagements.

Her first event this past week was on Tuesday when she made a surprise appearance in Delft, and then on Thursday, the 46-year-old Queen was in Utrecht and Amerongen.

The Government Information Services (RVD) in the Netherlands confirmed that Her Majesty had transparent braces placed on her teeth on Friday. They said, “With a view to correcting the bite of her choosing, Queen Máxima got a brace on the advice of the dentist.”

Two of her daughters have had braces, although not transparent, put on their teeth in recent years. Her eldest daughter, the Princess of Orange, has already had them taken off while Princess Alexia still has them on.

Queen Máxima recently returned back to work after the Dutch Royal Family’s summer holiday. Her vacation took a tragic and sad turn when her father, Jorge Zorreguieta, died after a long battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 89 on 8 August at the Fundaleu clinic in Buenos Aires. She travelled to her native Argentina to be at his bedside before his passing.

Her husband, King Willem-Alexander and their three daughters (Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane) are not believed to have been in the South American country when he died, but they joined Máxima after he succumbed to the disease and, naturally, attended his funeral.

The King and Queen released a statement a few days ago thanking the public for their support and condolences saying, “We would like to give our sincere thanks for all the messages of support we have received after the death of my father, father-in-law and the grandfather of our children. Your compassion has been a great source of support for us.”
