Swedish Royal Family Celebrates 69th Birthday Of King Carl Gustaf

The Swedish royal family celebrates King Carl Gustaf's 69th birthday in keeping with tradition with a public celebration in the courtyard of the Royal Palace in Stockholm on April 30, 2015.

King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden: Born on 30 April 1946, his full name is Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus. He was born at Haga Palace in Solna, Stockholm County. He was christened at the Royal Chapel June 7, 1946. On the christening day, he received the title Duke of Jämtland. Carl Gustaf became King of Sweden in September 1973.

King Carl Gustaf married Miss Silvia Renate Sommerlath on 19 June 1976 in Stockholm Cathedral. They have three children: Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine.
