Queen Maxima of the Netherlands celebrated her 44th birthday on 17 May. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (born Maxima Zorreguieta Cerruti on 17 May 1971) is the wife of King Willem-Alexander.
Happy Birthday to the always smiling Queen Maxima. She is rarely seen without a big smile on her face and is warmly welcomed wherever she goes - May 17th, the popular Dutch Queen Máxima celebrated her 44th birthday.
Máxima was born in 1971 in Buenos Aires and is the daughter of Jorge Zorreguieta and his second wife María del Carmen Cerruti Carricart. She was given the full name Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti and has two brothers, a sister and three half-sisters by her father's first wife, Marta López Gil.
On February 2nd 2002, Máxima married Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and the couple became King and Queen of the Netherlands on April 30th 2013 following the abdication of Queen Beatrix.
Queen Máxima holds many functions; among other things, she has been a member of the State Council since 2004, she is chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Prince Claus Chair and along with King Willem-Alexander she is patron of the Orange Foundation.
The Dutch Queen is also a popular style icon and her favourite fashion brand is the Belgian brand Natan.
For the past year, Queen Máxima has attended several big events and been on some interesting trips abroad. In June of last year, the Queen was seen having a laugh with American President Barack Obama in France, in October, the King and Queen met the Imperial couple of Japan and in November, Queen Máxima was visibly moved at the memorial of the MH17 plane crash.
It is unknown where Queen Máxima celebrated her birthday on the 17th of May, but since she had no official duties in her calendar on that day, she's probably been treated to presents and sweets some where by her closest friends and family.
Hope she had a very Happy Birthday!
